Russia, Georgia, US, and The US Media

As everyone is where, war has broken out between Russia and Georgia. Both countries blame the other for the outbreak. I have watched a lot of news as of late to see what the media is saying. It is clear that the American media is 100 percent on placing the blame on Russia.

This is something that I don't like. Why doesn't the media cover both sides of the story? They are trying their hardest to make us feel sorry for Georgia and to bring us into another war, a war that we don't need. It is my opinion, I have talked with people online who are currently over there and by there responses Georgia provoked this by entering South Ossetia.

Once the Georgian Army entered, several Russian peacekeepers were killed. Not only this, hundreds if not thousands of South Ossetians have been killed. Georgia has launched weapons that have almost no accuracy and because of this many civilians have died.

Now, Russia has reacted (As any country would) by bringing in troops to fight and defend themselves. This is where the US Media sides with Georgia. They say that Russia has reacted recklessly and have used too much force. I wish I could ask them this, did we react to recklessly after being attacked during 9/11? Yeah, we lost alot of lives but so did the Russians. I respect Russia for defending their people. Any decent country would have their citizens back. The media trys to counter this by saying that South Ossetia belongs to Georgia. It did, but it doesn't anymore. They are an independent nation and that should be respected. Georgia had no business entering South Ossetia.

It seems that the media is very good are controlling a large population. They are able to put things out and people will take it as TRUE without researching the facts. I admit I used to be like that. I never second guessed the media. Now I do. It makes you wonder if they secretly work for the Government to spread propaganda. However, now is not the time to get into conspiracies. People need to stand up for themselves and research the facts, not what CNN or Fox News puts out. The media puts out what they want you to see, not the full story.

90 percent of South Ossetians are Russian or hold Russian passports. An attack on them is the same as attacking Russia itself. Georgia must understand that there will be repercussions for their actions.

Now the US Government is commenting on the situation. They say Russia needs to cease attacks. Makes me wonder..... why are they commenting on it in the first place? We need to let these two countries solve this themselves. I admit I supported the war in Iraq, but I am sick of America trying to be the world police. We do not need another war, and war with Russia would be ridiculous and would run America into the group. We need to stay out of it!

Hopefully peace will come soon enough. I do not like war, but sometimes you have to stand up and defend yourselves. Russia is doing just that, and I applaud them for it.

So when this all first started I loaded up google earth and took a look at Georgia. Did a little research and found that BP shut down their pipe and I determined this was about one thing. Yeah, oil. http://digg.com/world_news/BP_shuts_pipeline_on_fears_over_Georgia_Attacks_Not_Good.

Thanks for the YouTube post hopefully the sheeple will turn off their TV.

I've been listening to Adam Curry and he's diffidently woken up. If you have the time you should subscribe to his show. http://curry.mevio.com/

Dear Kyle,
I am from Romania, a country which in 1947 was invaded by the Russians, and trust me you wouldn't like to experience what people in Romania lived those days (rapings, killings etc.). It is obvious you know next to nothing about what Russia is all about and how this huge country terrorized peoples in Eastern Europe for more than fourty years.
My advice is: shut up and hide in some den with your stupid plump face!

@iron: one more thing - the USSR, the "liberator", is the old czarist empire and Russia is the successor of this hateful USSR!
I still cannot imagine how a country can be so big and not be able to feed its citizens (after 1990 the Russians were starving)! It is somehow unfair: Russia has 160 million people whereas China and India have each more than a billion and their territories are many times smaller than the territory of Russia? Why did Russia (your dear USSR to put it more exactly)occupy Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania? These countries didn't even have natural resources to be exploited!
Why did Russia take Karelia? Did Russia really need that territory when it had a lot of unused land? Tell me, Russian patriot!

Hey Kyle,
I stumbled upon your youtube video on the Georgian/Russian conflict and really liked it. I know nothing about what's going on over there and you explained your position on the situation very simply and clearly. It's obvious you're passionate about politics. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your videos on youtube :)
